Over the past ten or more years, whenever I would sculpt a face, I always made a mold of it. Don't ask me why. I never used them as molds, but for whatever reason, I had to have a copy of it.
Even the simplest of faces. I would grab whatever scrap clay was around and make a quick mold, bake it, mark it and pack it away.
I guess I was afraid that once they were sold I would never see them again. This way I've still got them.
From the intricate Native American faces to babies to
cartoonish characters. It was like looking through old photographs; sitting there going "I remember when I made this one". Anyway, it was fun photographing my old friends.
Quel travail et quelle imagination!
