Paperclay Mask with Beaded Head Piece

I am going to paint patterns over the white base. Again, I thought I would like the basic look of the mask, but the white outweighs everything else.
I sculpted the PaperClay over an aluminum foil armature and when the PaperClay was dry, I removed it.
And, yes, she has a big schnozzolla. She loves her nose-it defines her.
The beads are a combination of vintage beads and buttons, gemstones, freshwater pearls, lampwork, seed beads and Czech glass. The beading stitches are peyote and fringe. It is mounted on a painted plywood oval.

  1. This is starting to look like a series, and it's getting more incredible by the piece. I love the way the beads lay on the forehead of this mask, and again, the white doesn't overwhelm the entire piece for me. If anything, it enhances it in it's contrast.

  2. Wonderful mask, I love the personality.. the nose is perfect. Beautiful beadwork, wow... I really like this piece. I see your point on the white maybe being a bit overweighing, but I don't necessarily think that is a drawback to the piece either.
