Our challenge was to use the Humblebead, the inspirational picture and poem to create a nature inspired piece.
I used the tree branch and colors from the inspirational photo below, but I toned down the browns, pink and greens so Heathers' Meadowlark Pendant would shine. I used an antique silver chain as the silver light after a storm. A bough of green raffia is woven throughout the chain. The glass leaf symbolizes growth, creativity and joy.
Since the pendant easily pops in and out of the polymer clay tree bezel, I thought I would try my hand at creating another one. I like the first one better, but the below experiment was fun.
Wow - I love what you did with this sweet little pendant!!!! Awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the uniqueness of this piece!
ReplyDeleteVery creative! The bezel has such a rustic feel and works well with the pendant.
ReplyDeleteFantastic addition to the pendant, it enhances so much. I too, like the the first one. It's as though the pendant grew out of it.
ReplyDeleteIncredible piece. So perfect.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe what you did with those bezels!! You are an amazing sculptress! I love them both. The raffia was genius, a great touch.
ReplyDeleteWow! The branch frame is beautiful! It really enhances Heather's bead and creates a whole new feeling for the piece. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love that you sculpted a bezel for the pendant. That's completely unique and a great mix of your style with my pendant. Both pieces are fascinating.
ReplyDeleteWow, Marlene. You are so talented. I love how you took that pendant and made it just melt into your designs. Its great how you can just replace it. I like the last necklace best, very beautiful. LOVE!

ReplyDeleteOh my! That is the most amazing piece of sculpture! I love how you made the roots and it looks like the bird and the nest are just nestled right in there. The colors and texture are fantastic. You have truly made this your own. I am in awe. Thank you for sharing your creation and for playing along. This is truly one of my favorite books. Enjoy the day.
