I did a transfer of the photocopy on to polymer clay, but added a thin layer of translucent over it and baked. After it cooled, I distressed it, rubbed acrylic paint into the marks and wiped it off. I lightly buffed the entire piece, front and back. I made a herringbone necklace to hang the sterling silver hinged bail and pendant on.

Wow these pendants are absolutely stunning - truly awesome. I have onlyjust started with polymer clay - had one attempt at an image transfer and it didn't work.

I'm glad to read about your process, which is similar to what I did. I wasn't happy with the quality of the transfer (it was a colour laser photocopy), but now I think I may have been unrealistically expecting a waterslide quality image. It works best with the distressing element you describe, I think. These doggies are just way too cute!
How clever(!), and to wear one's pet in art this way is so touching. Chelsea is my favorite!
