I used Alicja Kosarzewska's pattern (click HERE) of 1 size 8/0 round, 3 size 11/0 rounds, 1 size 8/0 round and 3 size 6/0 rounds.
Like I said in my previous post, this was my 7th attempt. The size 11/0's must be consistent in size and have a large enough hole to accommodate the Tuff Cord #2. I used a size 7 crochet hook. The start of the rope was the most difficult and then keeping the 11/0's and 8/0's from disappearing to the inside of the core was challenging. Because of the tight twist, the beads at each curve's tension point wanted to slide to the inside of the rope. So, every few rows, I had to go back and pop them back in position.
Interesting. I have been playing with a few beads on woven fabric and it makes me a bit ----err--tense. I can't imagine doing this.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, no doubt about that! But, I'm exhausted. ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you Barbara and Gene! It was challenging to say the least. I thought about it while falling asleep last night. I think every "first" an artist attempts is a struggle. So, I am going to try a second.
ReplyDeleteI like the magnetic clasp. Many of the bead crochet bracelets use an invisible join which is never very invisible when I do it! Definitely an example of how persistence pays off!
ReplyDeleteThanks Paula. I love the invisible join when I can get it to work. LOL. I would not use a magnetic clasp again on this bracelet again. I have worn it and it is too difficult to get on and off by myself. I won't pull on the beads and one needs two hands to open this type of closure. So much for thinking that one through. I would use the clasp Alicja used on her pieces (shown on her website).
ReplyDeleteGorgeous as usual! And I am wearing one of my new necklaces as we speak!
