I felted some spikes, threaded a sterling silver headpin through the end, pulled it through a sterling silver cone, secured with jewelry glue, formed a wire loop, hung it on the earring wire, sewed some beads on and I was dusting my shoulders in no time.

I agree. Too funny. I remember my first pair of shoulder dusters back in the 1980's. They were gorgeous and really did tickle.
