Shutterfly Book Of My Art

Yes, I know it's February, but I got a coupon to get a free hard cover book from Shutterfly (click HERE). All I paid for was $8 for shipping. I LOVE it. It was so much fun to put together and so easy. It's a kick to have a book of my polymer Halloween art. Yes, I know, I need to get back to February and work on some hearts, but lately, my heart's just not in it.

Squiggle Beads

These are the Squiggle Beads featured in December's Polymer Cafe' magazine.
The fossils and arrowheads used in the display I have had 50 years. My dad used to take we three kids fossil hunting. He'd show us how to hit the rock just right, it would crack in two and reveal the most beautiful patterns; mostly ferns, but some bugs. The arrowheads I would find in my grandmother's cornfields after the tractor had gone through turning over the ground. I used to have a large collection, but these are all that are left after all these years.

Squiggle Beads

My article on "Squiggle Beads" made the December issue. Yay. I am so happy. It is good I have this excitement to balance out my extreme nervousness. I am leaving in the morning for major surgery and will be laid up 6 weeks. Again, I have the overwhelming urge to tell everyone how much they mean to me and how grateful I am to have them in my life. Including you guys. Thank you for following, visiting, commenting and being a part of my life.

I'm a Cover Girl!!!!!

That's me....."Easy Leaf Necklace" on the COVER! I had two more posts on The Queen of Debris, but had to post my good news today just in case you didn't hear me jumping up and down and screaming for joy. Not quite sure when it will hit the stands, but I'm sure I will mention it a time or two again. Subtly, of course. My usual.

BIG Cane

My goal is to use up some of my old canes combined with canes from the scrap clay. It started out as shown in the below photo (that's one messy cane) and ended up as shown above.
So moving right along. Still under the weather but I have little beading projects I have assembled and a couple new books to devour and time is going by quickly. Plus all the scrap clay.
Amazes me how art can take one's mind off of something and into another direction. How conquering a difficult technique or creating something from discards can make one feel so good.
Change of subject: The other day (May 3), I was reading Polymer Clay Daily (PCD) and scrolling through the narrative when I noticed my Boomerang piece was featured in the PCD Flickr sidebar. It is such a kick to see one of my pieces on such a prestigious site. Sorry, I know I'm tootin my own horn, but I feel like a little kid who's been raising her hand in every class and finally someone called on me and I feel visible. Feels good; so, so good.
(Hubby, if you're reading this....Happy Birthday! Thanks for sharing my life-I've never been so happy).

Featured in Polymer Clay Daily!

Woo Hoo! Yippee! Yay! I have been dancing around all day! Cynthia Tinapple's Polymer Clay Daily featured one of my beaded polymer pieces.
I got an email from my friend Linda Moseley of Diva Designs Jewelry congratulating me and I thought "What???" Oh my gosh I was blown away. What a great feeling and honor to be featured on PC Daily!
-Thank you Cynthia for taking the time to write such nice things about my piece. I know I have talked about Polymer Clay Daily before, but it's worth repeating.
-Context based from Polymer Clay Daily:Cynthia Tinapple of Worthington, Ohio started Polymer Clay Daily in September, 2005. Polymer Clay Daily is a highly curated blog written by Cynthia to showcase fine polymer clay art and to serve as a portal to the polymer clay community.”
-And about my friend Linda-she has a great blog called scdiva in which she shares her talent and experience in working with polymer. Her tutorials are fantastic. Diva Designs Jewelry is fantastic. This day has been fantastic and I'm pretty sure today's blog will be up tomorrow too because I'm going to bask in this one.
-Just like the Oscars--I also have to thank Robin Atkins for Bead Journal Project 3 (see sidebar) for accepting me in her project. I committed to one beaded piece per month for a year and each one has to be the same size for the year. I felt by joining BJP I would be able to combine my polymer with my beading and also process some issues in a positive way through creating.
