Sole Sisters

I was inspired by Gwen Murphy's shoe art.  I could not find a website for her, but if you Google her name, you will see some crazy whimsical shoe faces.  Love them.  I made mine from PaperClay and a pair of black flats.  I added eyes that open and close.  I may switch out the colorful earrings for some black and white ones.
I may hang them on my closet wall or maybe set them on the floor by the front door...haven't decided yet.  But they do make me smile.  My right hand and elbow are still painful and numb, but I am getting back to my art and feeling better.

Polymer Journeys Book

Can't stop smiling!  What an incredible feeling.  My work has been chosen to be included in the new book by Sage Bray, “POLYMER JOURNEYS”:  http://polymerjourneys.com/Details_Purchases.php.  Tentatively due for release around the end of February.  Pre-release orders will be soon.

Polymer Clay Pod Men

At Clay Carnival, I did the center sculpture in a class taught by Dawn Schiller of Odd Fae.  It was such a pleasure to meet her as I have admired her work for many years.  It was so much fun, I have continued to make these little fellows.

Polymer Clay Face Cane

In one of my bead embroidery classes, it was suggested that having a cabochon already glued on some bead backing would save time in the beginning of the class.  They were anxious to get started and no one wanted to wait for the glue to set.
That old face cane where I really messed up the nose area, came in handy.  It was so much fun to see what each bead artist did with the little faces.

Bubblegum Gone Wrong

Lately, I go from my beading table to my clay table and back again; with intermitten stops at my photography table.  I'm gearing up for some upcoming classes.  So excited.

"In Lights"

Ah, the art of polymer clay up in lights, in all its glory. Through the magic of Photofunia (click HERE) I can imagine, dream and play.

Photo Cards of Polymer Creations

"The Tribe" I hand sculpted faces from polymer clay, made a mold from polymer clay and created more.Hand sculpted polymer clay and beaded head piece.
My copyrighted "Bald Headed Beads" (above) and another polymer clay face below.
I ordered more photo cards for distribution at Bead and Button......400 to be exact. I just about had a different image for each card. I have to pay more for rush shipping, so I hope they are worth it. I'm running around here trying to get ready for the Bead and Button Show so if I miss a few days of posting....that's why.

Polymer Photos Part 5

Some of my polymer clay pieces in a window display (through Photofunia, a free photo editing program), and
oh my gosh....who is that? Kind of looks like Brad Pitt adding a few words on the photos of my polymer clay sculptures? Only through Photofunia.

Grinding Away

I am so busy grinding away at some projects. Can't wait to get them finished. I took a break and picked up my polymer to do a quick sculpt using some little molds and Kemper punches. Our local art fair is March 19th so I am trying to get my plein air paintings framed and finish some new large abstracts. Good to be busy again.

Face #7

When I threw these scrap polymer faces together, I really didn't know what I would do with them. But they seem to be working for me as little references. We've been on the road for 10 hours on our way to Chicago from Arizona. I am feeling a little road stressed, but things are moving along.

Face #6

I'm feeling just a tad blue. Haven't been out with my bestest friends in ages and am going to miss my polymer guild meeting today. Arthritis is acting up. I'm very excited about the big wedding day and just want to be able to dance at our daughter's wedding. Doc said I could slow dance, and then he said, "Oh, just dance and have a great time, we'll patch you up when you get back." So, that's the plan Stan.

Profound Words

When I saw that image..I just thought of the “small cuts”….things that people say to others…(not necessarily in a nice way….) and how if someone removed the “surface” (a.k.a skin…) how they might show up…if we all held on to all of them. It was a gut reaction…-Jodie T. Lawrosky I really appreciate when a viewer (friend) takes the time to share their thoughts and feelings. This particular response was profound for me. It hit home. I wanted to share her words and visceral response.

Polymer Oddities - Face #1

I will be posting a collection of some hand sculpted polymer oddities that were thrown together in a fury of creativity. So many things going on right now I am riding an emotional roller coaster. You can laugh, or shake your head or white knuckle it with me as we slide into Fall with these crazy little sculptures.
