Horse Abstract I

A friend suggested calling it, "Run with the Wind".
This is Gunner. He's a rescue. Isn't he magnificent? I have been commissioned by my friend to paint her horses; nine in all. I'm playing around with abstracts initially to loosen up, but truth be told, I am hopelessly in love with the freedom it provides, the bright colors and dramatic brushstrokes. What a rush! I am inspired by other artists, learning from them, giving it my own twist and having fun along the way.

I have a feeling your friend may find it hard to stick to just nine things you've created if she gets the chance to see what you do while "playing around"! This is fabulous, and I especially love your colorful interpretation.

Thanks Barbara. I'm happy with it. She wants a more traditional style so I thought I would get this out of my system before settling down. I just hope I can do it. I told her there is no obligation if she doesn't like them as I am learning and having a ball.

OMG! The colors are amazing! Your work is beautiful, Marlene! I love this abstract work...even if she doesn't like your abstract ones, you should sell them. Amazing work as always!

Oh Marlene! I would love to be able to hang that one on my wall, it makes me think of my white ArabianX when she gets a Diva-tude! Beautiful and so well done. And that is just you loosening up... sheesh!! Can't wait to be able to see you getting on it then!!
