Native American Polymer Clay Bead Embroidery

 

Finished the Native American bead embroidery piece. I added several more layers of beaded outline and a nice long fringe. Mounted it on a black leather covered wooden plaque and covered the back with black felt to complete it.

Polymer Clay & Bead Embroidery

I did a small polymer clay sculpt of a Native American, added some polymer clay black and white flat beads, some polymer faux turquoise, a button, some rabbit fur and then bead embroidered around it.  I still may add more; not sure.

Polymer Clay Face Cane

 In one of my bead embroidery classes, it was suggested that having a cabochon already glued on some bead backing would save time in the beginning of the class.  They were anxious to get started and no one wanted to wait for the glue to set.

That old face cane where I really messed up the nose area, came in handy.  It was so much fun to see what each bead artist did with the little faces.

I had fun making a bunch of scrap polymer cabochons.  I have enough to hold me for a while.

Bead Embroidery Necklace

Bead Embroidered Bag

I made this bead embroidered piece quite a while ago, but could never decide what I wanted to do with it.  This leather bag from Goodwill was calling my name; just enough room for my keys, wallet and cell phone.  Love it.

Bead Embroidery

This is my first attempt at bead embroidery. The large circle on the right is a Mandala done in Peyote stitch. Mandala's are said to have healing powers and at the time, I was needing some healing and this piece evolved.

Not sure where it is going, but really love it.
