Bead Crochet Beige & White

 Goes with everything.....love basics.  Still recuperating from hand/elbow surgery.  Can't wait to get back to bead crochet.

Cellini Bead Crochet

I used Alicja Kosarzewska's pattern (click HERE) of 1 size 8/0 round, 3 size 11/0 rounds, 1 size 8/0 round and 3 size 6/0 rounds.  

 Like I said in my previous post, this was my 7th attempt.  The size 11/0's must be consistent in size and have a large enough hole to accommodate the Tuff Cord #2.  I used a size 7 crochet hook.  The start of the rope was the most difficult and then keeping the 11/0's and 8/0's from disappearing to the inside of the core was challenging.  Because of the tight twist, the beads at each curve's tension point wanted to slide to the inside of the rope.  So, every few rows, I had to go back and pop them back in position.  

Cellini Bead Crochet

Yes, I'm still working on the other sample rope, but in the meantime, I spotted Alicja Korsarzewska's pattern (click HERE) for a Cellini Bead Crochet and had to try it.  I have already torn out the above piece and started another.  Actually, I started 6….all epic fails and tore them out.  I'm stringing my 7th, so we will see.

Bead Crochet Sample Necklace

 I designed this pattern and thought I would just love it.  I do love the pattern, however the colors are wrong.  The dark red is off and the yellow is non-existent.  It is going to be a necklace of color experiments.  On to the next section.

Wearing Bead Crochet

Above the bead crochet rope is doubled around the neck and magnetic closure is worn on the side.

Above it is looped through itself in the back.

Magnetic Focal

 An elegant magnetic clasp from Ezel Findings (click HERE) becomes the focal point of this simple bead crochet necklace.  I used size 8/0 Japanese glass seed beads in a 6 around pattern.

Wearing Bead Crochet

 All knotted up.  Magnetic closures on two bead crochet necklaces.  One necklace knotted makes a bracelet, two knotted makes a statement.

 20" tall, air dry clay, watercolor, sealers, loom knitted tubes, textiles, ribbon.

Peppermint Twist

 Polymer clay peppermint candy charms and crystals tied in a pretty ribbon of "Ho Ho Ho".  The bead crochet necklace can be worn with or without the charms.   Happy December.

Displaying Bead Crochet

 I like creatively displaying my jewelry, even at home.  Above, I mixed up some Apoxie Sculpt and attached it to one of my paintings.  I particularly like this one.

In the green one, I used Command Picture Hanging Strips.  After taking this photo, I can see that the painting needs lighter color, muted tones and a strong transition from dark to light.  But, I'm happy with the Command Strips.  Tomorrow is our local art fair.  I painted some abstracts portraits and a couple of paintings that took on a life of their own.  I will be posting soon.

Kato Style

I had a great time in Donna Kato's Clay Carnival workshop in Vegas.  I finished the workshop pin in the background and then came home and made a pendant with carving (in the foreground).   I'm barely home and I can't wait to go back next August.

Holiday Bead Patterns

Above are some patterns I created using JB-Bead Software which is a free download (click HERE).  I've played around with it for years, but not to the extent I am now.  When I get back from Clay Carnival, I'm ordering more beads.  I do want to give these a try to see how they work out.  If the samples work out, I will post the patterns.

Ladybug, Ladybug……...

 More summertime bead crochet; sweet little ladybugs, yellow flowers and green grass.

 I found the pattern on the internet, but could not find the author.  I used a #7 crochet hook, Tuff Cord #2 and size 8/0 Japanese round seed beads

Watermelon Pattern

It took me four times to see the rhythm of the zig zag pattern.  I feel funny saying that because it is probably apparent to anyone else, but for me it was trial and error.  Anyway, it is a fun pattern for summer and I hope you enjoy it.

Watermelon Bead Crochet

So, on the 4th try of drafting this pattern, I think I have it.  And, yes, it took crocheting about 3" to 4" all four times before the mistakes surfaced.   Rip out, re-string and start again.  Happy now.  I will clean up the pattern and post it sometime this week.  

Beading For The Holidays

Above is the bead crochet pattern for this happy holiday pattern.  I am not quite halfway done and am out of beads.  They can't get here soon enough!
