Wishing you a sweet holiday. I made polymer clay chocolate eggs, decorated them and glued them to a Styrofoam tree. I filled in the empty spaces with some dried moss, tiny flowers and leaves.

Betrayal
One of the abstract collages I did for the art fair. I was inspired by the story of Judas, his cowardly act of betrayal. I started thinking about spineless people who go along with the crowd, intentionally hurting another. Or those who keep silent because they don't want to get involved; don't want to rock the boat; inadvertently hurting another. My slouching figure cannot rightfully hold his head high. He cowardly hides behind "anonymous". He faces away from the light. He has no eyes, ears or mouth because he cannot see, hear or speak the truth. No hands or feet due to his inability to make amends. Good Friday has me deep thinking. Happier thoughts tomorrow (promise).

Spring Art Fair 2013
Last Saturday was our one day local art fair - 8 am to 3 pm. We had beautiful Arizona weather, but we didn't have the number of attendees we normally do. I had a terrible location (behind a door) due to a glitch in the system. Needless to say, I did not do well. But, it was in the shade and had a nice breeze, but very little traffic. The best part of the day was visiting with good friends who stopped by to wish me well.

Ripple Polymer Pendant
Embedding sturdy jump rings into the back of a polymer clay piece to create a finding is neat, clean and effective. It accomodates thick or thin neck pieces and I love the way the pendant hangs.

Revolving Jewelry Display
It displays 45 to 50 necklaces in an 18" diameter space. It is a formidable display when sitting on a table or counter as it stands 45" high.
After attaching the base and top, I added the jewelry hangers and hung the cork necklaces. I dressed it in a pretty blue top and added some of my bead crochet necklaces. It all comes apart so I can store it, but I like it so much, I'm going to use it in my studio. But, I am so glad it was finished in time for this Saturday's art air.

Polymer Maghong Tiles
I made some polymer clay Maghong tiles that I will make into a necklace sometime this week. I don't play maghong so I don't know much about it, but I love all the tile patterns. I had the mold and I mixed a beautiful blue, so what the heck. My maghong playing friend came over last night and told me (very emphatically) there would NEVER be maghong tiles this color and shape! Oops.
Last minute, I am making more cork necklaces and putting the base coat on some paper mache' ornaments.

Mixed Media Painting
"For God and Country" is one of the mixed media paintings I'm finishing up for our local art fair March 23. I'm also working on polymer clay pieces and a new display for my booth. Every surface is covered with projects in progress. It's visually overwhelming, but I'm so excited, having so much fun and in hyper drive. The hubby, not so much.
