Bottoms Up

I patted some corn starch on the bottom of a water bottle, squished some polymer clay into it and voila, a beautiful piece emerged.
I used the tip of a ball point pen to make the little circles, a pin to dot their centers and drew some circles in the middle.
It is the layering of paint colors that really bring out its beauty.
I am using magnetic backs on all my pins. This one will be going in my Etsy shop this week along with the beaded crocheted rope.
All three plastic bottles have different bottoms. I'm off to try the one on the right. So much fun.

Great idea! There appear to be textures in the least likely places!

I would have never thought of that! Awesome idea and think of all the different ways you can use that piece. I will have to give that a try! Thanks for sharing!

I never thought to check the bottoms of my bottles, I did just that and found 2 cool patterns...my husband is gonna think I'm nuts for saving bottles! LOL

WOW, in your creative eyes it seems like potential WAY COOL molds and texturing tools are everywhere! I'll be looking at everyday objects much more carefully in the future.

Thanks. I just made a mold of a new mascara brush! It is making the cutest little textures. I agree that texturing tools are everywhere and what fun it is experimenting with them all! Thank you all for your comments!

Heh, I do that too! Mostly with bottles, but with other things as well. My husband was worried that I was turning into a hoarder, I had to show him what what I was doing with that "trash". On the bottles though now I just cut of the part I want to use and toss the rest to save on space (and reassure my husband) :)
